Resumen

En efecto, la escritura consiste en un uso muy especial que los seres humanos hacen de su capacidad de simbolizar. Los seres humanos han desarrollado un mecanismo para extender artificialmente su memoria. Han encontrado la manera de agregar a su memoria genética una memoria cultural. Este logro es trascendental para la especie porque de alguna manera ha permitido que el destino efímero de un individuo, sus ideas y experiencias, puedan permanecer después de su muerte y ser utilizadas por otros como punto de partida para nuevas elaboraciones.

Abstract

Indeed, writing is a very special use that human beings make their ability to symbolize. Human beings have developed a mechanism to artificially extend its memory. They have found the way to add to your genetic memory a cultural memory. This achievement is transcendental for the species because somehow it has allowed that the ephemeral target of an individual, their ideas and experiences, can remain after his death and be used by others as a starting point for new elaborations.
