Neuroanatomic bases of creativity
Resumen
La creatividad, siendo un aspecto prácticamente imprescidible en el desempeño social contemporáneo, ha tenido una importante atención por parte de investigadores. Sin embargo, todavía son relativamente pocos estudios que pemiten acercarse a la comprension de bases neuroanatomicas de los procesos creativos. La investigación moderna del cerebro presenta las funciónes psicquicas superiores como sistemas complejos ordenados jerárquicamente, que surgieron a partir de las presiones evolutivas que impulsaron el desarrollo de estructuras neuronales cada vez más integradoras capaces de procesar información cada vez más compleja, lo cual, a su vez, condujo a una mayor flexibilidad de comportamiento y adaptabilidad. La corteza cerebral, y en particular el cortex prefrontal, está en la parte superior de esa jerarquía, que representa la base neural de funciones cognitivas superiores del ser humano. La revisión bibligrafica realizada en el presente escrito presenta algunos estudios que exploran las bases neuroanatomicas de la creatividad, entre los cuales se destaca una importante y diferenciada participacion de lobulos frontales en coordinacion con distintas regiones de áreas temporales, occipitales y parietales, revelando la presencia de diferentes rutas neurológicas según diferentes formas del proceso creativo. Igualmente, se explora la posible relación entre el funcionamiento ejecutivo y creatividad, revelando que estos dos constructos comparten funciones cognitivas de orden superior. Los estudios muestran, sin embargo, bastantes datos contradictorios, lo cual indica la necesidad de profundizar en esta linea de investigación con el fin de acercarse a una mayor comprensión objetiva de la creatividad con el fin de presisar estrategias concretas y practicas orientadas a su respectivo fomento desde el ámbito educativo.
