Evaluación de las propiedades psicométricas del Test de Dependencia al Teléfono Móvil en estudiantes universitarios cubanos

Problemática: El teléfono móvil es utilizado con frecuencia por los adolescentes y jóvenes atendiendo a los atractivos servicios que ofrece. Sin embargo, su uso abusivo puede generar problemas físicos, psicológicos y sociales. De ahí la importancia de contar con instrumentos que permitan evaluar esta problemática.
Objetivo(s): Evaluar las propiedades psicométricas que presenta el Test de Dependencia al Teléfono Móvil en una muestra de estudiantes universitarios cubanos.
Metodología: Enfoque cuantitativo. Estudio instrumental. Participaron 536 estudiantes universitarios cubanos.
Resultados y discusión: Se realizó la adaptación lingüística y sociocultural del instrumento. Fueron identificados cuatro factores (Tolerancia, Abstinencia, Dificultades relacionadas con su uso y Dificultades en el control) y adecuados niveles de confiabilidad. El Factor 2 Abstinencia mostró medias mayores en el los estudiantes que se encontraban más cercanos a la etapa de la adolescencia. No se encontraron diferencias en cuanto al sexo y los factores obtenidos.
Conclusiones:El Test de Dependencia al Teléfono Móvil mostró adecuadas propiedades psicométricas que permiten su utilización en el contexto universitario cubano.
Abstract
Problem: teenagers and young people attending to the attractive services it offers frequently use the mobile phone. However, its abusive use can generate physical, psychological and social problems. Hence the importance of having instruments that allow evaluating this problem. Objective(s): To evaluate the psychometric properties presented by the Mobile Phone Dependence Test in a sample of Cuban university students. Methodology: A quantitative research paradigm was assumed with instrumental study. The sample was composed by 536 Cuban university students participated. Results and discussion: The linguistic and sociocultural adaptation of the instrument was development. Four factors were identified (Tolerance, Abstinence, Difficulties related to its use and Lack control) and adequate levels of reliability. The Factor 2 Abstinence showed higher means in the students who were closer to the stage of adolescence. No differences were found regarding sex and the factors obtained. Conclusions: Test of Mobile Phone Dependence showed adequate psychometric properties that allow its use in the Cuban university context.
