Práctica de taekwondo y comportamientos internalizantes y externalizantes en niños con edades entre los 6 y los 12 años

ResumenIntroducción: la incidencia de los comportamientos internalizantes y externalizantes en niños va en aumento y los procesos de intervención no siempre resultan efectivos. La psicología de la salud se interesa por comprender la forma como se desarrolla, mantiene y potencia el estado de salud de las personas. El deporte ha demostrado ser una actividad que permite desarrollar, mantener y potenciar el estado de salud mental de las personas. Objetivo: determinar si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la Escala Clínica y la Escala Adaptativa del Sistema de Evaluación Multidimensional de la Conducta (BASC) en un grupo de niños con edades entre 6 y 12 años que practica Taekwondo y un grupo control. Metodología: El tipo de investigación fue cuantitativa, con un diseño no experimental, nivel descriptivo/comparativo y transversal. Se conformaron dos grupos de estudio. El grupo de casos, compuesto por 56 niños pertenecientes a semilleros de Taekwondo de la ciudad de Medellín. El grupo control estuvo conformado por 54 niños pareados por edad y estrato socioeconómico que no practicaba deporte de forma regular. Resultados: la hiperactividad, la agresión, la ansiedad, la somatización, la adaptabilidad, las habilidades sociales y el liderazgo tienen puntuaciones que difieren significativamente entre el grupo de casos y el grupo control.
