The objective of the research is to investigate the electoral behavior of Colombians in the United States, Spain and Venezuela, and the relevance of political parties in the 2014 and 2018 elections. The latter is done through the comparative method and following three analysis models proposed by Vallès (1990): rational decision, party affinity and socio-historical determination. It is concluded that there is a high level of abstention in this type of election, while the most relevant parties and political preferences are associated with center-right tendencies.
