La objeción de conciencia de los médicos pertenecientes a las entidades públicas de salud frente al aborto en Colombia

La Sentencia Constitucional 355 de 2006 ha permitido el aborto en tres casos específicos y debidamente fundamentados, esto con la intención de reconocer los derechos de la mujer gestante para acceder a la Interrupción Voluntaria del Embarazo (IVE), y los derechos de los médicos o profesionales de la salud al momento de hacer uso del derecho a la objeción de conciencia cuando vean afectados sus convicciones morales o religiosas. Por lo anterior, el legislador pensó en crear una normatividad con la cual se rijan las entidades públicas de salud para determinar en qué casos y bajo que parámetros deben actuar, sin que se vulneren los derechos reconocidos de la mujer gestante.
