La libertad de cultos y el rito matrimonial en Colombia: Una mirada comparativa entre matrimonio civil y cristianos no católicos

Desde 1991, la Constitución colombiana proclama un Estado laico que protege la libertad de culto, influyendo de forma trascendental y sin precedentes en el reconocimiento de los efectos civiles de los ritos matrimoniales efectuados en congregaciones no católicas y soportado en la firma del Convenio de Derecho Público Interno entre el estado colombiano y algunas entidades religiosas no católicas. Interesa aquí la situación que concierne a las diferencias en los ritos de los matrimonios según la legislación colombiana, centrada en defender en todas sus instancias la igualdad exenta de calidades religiosas excluyentes, y los ritos de iglesias de otras confesiones, específicamente, el caso de la Iglesia Pentecostal Unida de Colombia, la cual suscribió el convenio mencionado, y la Iglesia Movimiento Misionero Mundial, que es una de las iglesias que no lo firmó.
